The Atlantik-Brücke e.V. was founded in 1952 as a private, non-partisan organization for strengthening the German-American partnership. With its broad network of contacts in politics and business, Atlantik – Brücke strives to strengthen contacts in the younger generation, which includes among others Young Leaders, social studies teachers, university professors, and journalists. As such, Atlantik-Brücke functions as an important partner in fostering exchange concerning domestic and international issues of short- and long-term importance to the transatlantic dialogue.

The German-American Fulbright Commission in Berlin has been established 50 years ago by the two Governments in order to promote academic and cultural exchanges between both countries. It is the largest Fulbright program in the world sponsoring approximately 700 individuals each year, among them university students, faculty, high school teachers, and professional journalists as well as experts in education.
